About

Summary

The corporate controller is responsible for the implementation and compliance of the financial policies and procedures for the AIM Solder group. He/she is responsible for the maintenance of accounting systems, preparation of financial reports, preparation of tax schedules and for the relations with the external auditor. He/she is also responsible for the preparation of the compliance reporting related to the financing. The corporate controller is a proactive individual that is the main support to the Vice-President of Finance, coordinates the work of the branch controllers and oversees the local Finance department.

Responsibilities

The corporate controller's responsibilities, among others, are:


•  To support local & international controller regarding financial & taxes issues (corporate & sales taxes);
•  To recommend and participate in the implementation of improvement measures where necessary;
•  To support the internal control initiatives;
•  To supervise the preparation of the monthly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules;
•  To participate and support the team regarding the consolidation process, analysis and financial reporting;
•  To work closely with the VP Finance and provide support to the operations;
•  To overview the tax compliance and planning activities in collaboration with the external consultants
•  Coordinate R&D reporting (tax) for CDN and USD entities;
•  Supervise sales tax audit and support local and international entities for queries / issues;
•  To control accuracy of all manufacturing affiliates reporting;
•  To provide meaningful analysis to management;
•  To implement general accounting and financial reporting systems, policies, procedures and requirements;
•  To supervise government filings as required;
•  To supervise year-end audit for the manufacturing group;
•  To ensure compliance with PE GAAP through the manufacturing group;
•  Work as a team with other service functions, such as internal audit, costing, purchasing, etc.
•  Supervisory Responsibilities;
•  To supervise the Montreal finance team;
•  To provide direction and coaching to the branch controllers;
•  To ensure a positive work environment and awareness by staff of company policies, procedures, goals and objectives.

Qualifications


•  Candidate must be a CPA with a minimum of seven years' experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment;
•  A person with knowledge of PE GAAP and taxation would be preferable;
•  A person with attention to details and a strong ability to work under pressure;
•  A person having an analytical mind and an ability to perform autonomously;
•  Great leadership skills;
•  Diplomacy, tenacity, rigor, flexibility and dynamism are required for this position;
•  Computer competent;
•  Quick learner;
•  Fluently bilingual in French and English;
