The successful candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Red Lake area in Northwestern Ontario. The Human Resources Manager position will work on a 5/2, 4/3 roster.

Reporting to the General Manager, we're looking for a dynamic Human Resources Manager to lead HR strategy and operations at our mining site. This role is critical in shaping a positive, inclusive workplace while ensuring compliance with Canadian employment standards and mining regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Human Resources Manager is responsible for:
  • Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and total rewards.
  • Build strong partnerships with First Nations communities and implement culturally respectful hiring and training programs.
  • Maintain adherence to federal/provincial employment laws, occupational health and safety standards, and mining regulations.
  • Monitor employee satisfaction, lead engagement initiatives, and promote diversity and inclusion.
  • Align hiring plans with operational needs and budgets; prepare business cases for new roles when required.
  • Collaborate with corporate HR to implement policies, drive change, and embed best practices.
  • Maintain job descriptions, org charts, and salary structures to support business goals.
  • Partner with operations to deliver robust training systems for safety, technical skills, and leadership development.
  • Work with leadership to create a workplace where employees feel valued and aligned with company values and sustainability commitments.
  • Ensure there is the necessary manpower and resources available to meet business targets and at the same time maintain costs within the established budget guidelines.
  • Resolve any employee relations issues that may arise.
  • Be an engaged, aligned and active member of the West Red Lake's leadership team and an integral component of the site's leadership performance success.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or other related discipline.
  • 10 years' experience in Human Resources with 3 years of experience in a senior leadership role and experience in the mining industry.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation is considered an asset.
  • A high level of integrity and accountability.
  • Highly influential with strong facilitation, negotiation and management skills.
  • Demonstrated success in building trusting relationships with the local community, Aboriginal groups and employees, colleagues and service providers/contractors.
  • Previous involvement in Aboriginal engagement activities to support community development and build a legacy for the local communities.
  • Strong decision making and judgment skills with a keen sense of ethics.
  • Skilled in workforce planning, talent acquisition, and change management.
