Collections Coordinator

The Collections Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the resolution of third party transactions working collaboratively across functions of the business. Your responsibility is to contribute to the collection of outstanding moneys to increase our Working Capital. This position is all about communication and organization.
How You'll Help:
- Maintain a region or function of transactions, maintaining aged AR balances within KPI targets
- Resolve collection issues via phone or email
- Identifies and develops strategies for the resolution of disputed transactions to minimize loss
- Accessing bills of lading, POD's, invoices etc, that need to be resent to customer. Special requirements as to format of how to resend, ie: scan to one PDF.
- Preparing paperwork for 3rd party collections and legal files.
- Contacting terminals to locate missing paperwork.
- Adding notes, promises to pay, and other collections information into the system
- Process credit card payments
- Collaborate with other teams to minimize number of non-account transactions and open accounts on a credit-basis.
- Other related duties as may be required.
Your Skills & Experience:
- Post-secondary education in business administration, or related field
- Transportation experience an asset
- Accounts Receivable experience an asset
- Suitable combination of education and experience may be considered
- Strong MS Suite skills; Outlook, Excel & Word; must possess the aptitude for learning new programs.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written; persuasive, confident, with ability to articulate an appropriate message to various audiences clearly and concisely
- Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Maintain composure under high-pressure situations and difficult conversations
- Strong sense of urgency
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline driven environment
- Ability to work independently and to collaborate with others to meet customer expectations
- Ability to understand transportation documentation and verbiage
