Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook who specializes in Jamaican cuisine to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong background in the food industry particularly in restaurant settings or fine dining establishments. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing high-quality meals, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional dining experiences. You will work closely with the dietary department to assist in menu planning and adhere to dietary guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and refine menu offerings.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist in inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies as needed.
• Utilize proper knife skills for food preparation, ensuring efficiency and safety.
• Monitor food quality throughout the cooking process to ensure consistency and excellence.
• Participate in training new kitchen staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cook or in a similar role within the food service industry is preferred.
• Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of dietary restrictions and experience working with dietary aides is a plus.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• A passion for culinary arts, menu planning, and providing exceptional dining experiences.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
