Kitchen Prep/Dishwasher

Hachi is an Izakaya that specializes in seasonal bincho grill dishes, freshly farmed oysters, sushi, and specialty hot pot soups along with small Japanese tapas dishes and a variety of alcoholic drinks to pair with the dishes.

We are looking for an experienced Kitchen Prep/Dishwasher to join our team and prepare exceptional dishes for our guests. Responsibilities for this position include washing dishes and handling a wide range of raw seafood, meat, and other ingredients, assisting to manage food stock and working with speed and an attention to detail to fulfill all orders within our quality standards.

To be successful in this role, you should have experience with Japanese cuisine and be available to work during our evening opening hours. Along with our skilled kitchen staff, you will help us to maintain Izakaya Hachi's reputation as an authentic Japanese dining experience.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare meals by chopping vegetables, slicing meats, making salads, and cooking / assembling appetizers & some entrees.
• Performs food preparation & cooking duties including meat, salad, appetizers, entrees, desserts, etc.
• Ensures a proper supply of clean dishware, pots, pans, and cooking/serving utensils are available
• Cleans work areas and all equipment used in food preparation

Qualifications/Skills:

• Basic dish washing, culinary, grilling, cooking, and frying skills and or equivalent experience highly preferred
• Knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices
• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar roles
• Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Japanese language ability a plus
• Must speak, read, and write basic English

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
