What you will do:

  • Ensure product quality standards are met for all items produced during the shift.
  • Assign work to ensure qualified employees are properly allocated to meet production needs.
  • Oversee production equipment operation to maximize efficiency, maintain quality, and ensure employee safety.
  • Complete tool changes and machine setups promptly and efficiently.
  • Monitor production progress to ensure orders are completed on schedule.
  • Communicate quality concerns immediately to the Quality team and take corrective action as required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and records.
  • Promote and enforce a safe work environment in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and the ability to apply them to improve processes and reduce waste.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to maintaining 5S standards for workplace organization, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Ensure product quality standards are met for all items produced during the shift.
  • Assign work to ensure qualified employees are properly allocated to meet production needs.
  • Hold employees accountable for performance, attendance, and adherence to company policies, applying disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Knowledge & Skills

The Assembly Supervisor must possess the following:

  • Strong leadership ability to manage a diverse team with varying skill levels.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.

  • Attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions accurately.
  • Proficient in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Computer literacy, including basic use of Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to operate and start production equipment safely.
  • Skilled in the use of basic hand tools (wrenches, ratchets, screwdrivers, etc.).
  • Physical capability to stand, kneel, walk, stoop, crawl, crouch, and sit as needed.
  • Manual dexterity for handling small parts and performing fine motor tasks.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects as part of regular job duties.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn new skills, methods, and equipment.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Leadership ability to manage a diverse team with varying skill levels.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in injection molding and thermoplastic materials.
  • Experience in a fast paced, automotive manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Formal training in injection molding and supervision preferred.
