Innovative Pharmacy Solutions is seeking a Full-Time, Pharmacist Workflow Supervisor, preferably with long term care experience, to join our leadership team.

Overview:

The Pharmacist Workflow Supervisor is responsible for consistent and ongoing monitoring of the pharmacy workflow from order entry to delivery and all that happens in between. In this high impact position, you will collaborate with pharmacy departments to deliver efficient care coordination with internal staff, home health agencies, nursing facilities and physicians. Identifying gaps and inefficiencies in workflow and correcting or redirecting efforts to maximize output.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws and regulations, including sterile/non-sterile compounding guidelines.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of prescriber/facility notification process for drug interaction, allergy, and other adverse patient safety situations.
  • Perform accurate dose calculations based on medication, patient condition, volume and administration rates. Program infusion pumps.
  • Demonstrate thorough competency of medication occurrence reporting process.
  • Have an understanding of QS1 pharmacy software and DocuTrack
  • Pharmacy Policy and Procedure Manual and internal pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • Order processing only when technical support unavailable.
  • Answer drug-related questions as related to IV therapy and medication management in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with facility consultant pharmacists and clinical staff pharmacists regarding patient management.
  • Attend continuing education seminars and annual meetings as provided to maintain clinical pharmacy skills.
  • On-call duties as required.
  • Varied shift
  • IV experience
  • Current Pharmacist license active and in good standing in the state of practice required. We practice in the state of Indiana.
  • Management experience preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or higher
  • Professional liability insurance in good standing.

Physical Demands:

  • May sit or stand for (7) to (10) hours per day
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, walk, crawl intermittently
  • May be necessary to work extended hours as needed
  • May lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this role
