The Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a motivated individual to join the Medicaid and Long-Term Care team to fill the role of DHHS Program Coordinator.
The DHHS Program Coordinator will work closely with data entry operators and Office Specialist teammates who deal with the processing of medical/dental claims and Share of Cost. This position is also crossed trained to help the Program Coordinator within the NFOCUS Teams.
Under limited supervision, the Program Coordinator coordinates the administration of various state and federally funded programs throughout the state to include grant/contract administration, budget monitoring, and the development of program policies, procedures, and evaluation criteria to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; performs related work as required.

The DHHS Program Coordinator:
Oversee the training of unit processes and procedures to new and experienced staff.
Research and create SOPs and training material pertaining to Medicaid eligibility and the processing of Medicaid claims.
Knowledge / experience with NFOCUS, MMIS, OnBase, Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) application, and Excel / Microsoft word.
Hire Rate: $26.138 per hour – non-exempt
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 AM -5:00 PM
Dress Attire: Business Casual
Location: Lincoln- Nebraska State Office Building
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, health sciences, public health, education, law or related field OR experience in the development of operational policies and procedures, performing quality assurance analysis/evaluation of programs; grant writing, contract management, or leading community based health/social care groups. Related coursework, training and/or education may substitute for the Bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
One plus year of customer service experience and/or office/administrative experience.
Billing and data entry experience.
Experience with the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS), as well as the Hyland OnBase ECM Imaging system.
Solid level of expertise in Word and Excel or other business hardware and software experience.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of: basic accounting and business administration; social work and management theory; the structure of organizations; state, local and federal laws and programs relating to social service programs; available funding sources; human dynamics; learning/teaching techniques.
Ability to: relate well with a diverse number of individuals or organizations; analyze community's present needs and recommend programs to achieve desired results; work with people in a variety of roles (leadership, cooperation, education, networking).
Skill in: persuading others to adopt programs; presenting information to groups or individuals in oral or written form; problem solving; prioritizing; goal setting; conflict resolution.
