Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various clinical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital medicine, urgent care, and emergency medicine. This role involves providing exceptional patient care, supporting medical procedures, and ensuring efficient clinic operations. Candidates with a strong background in Cardiology or geriatrics will find this position particularly fitting. The Certified Medical Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality healthcare services within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms
  • Measure and record vital signs such as manual blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
  • Assist with patient examinations and procedures in outpatient settings
  • Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort
  • Support physicians during medical procedures, including medication administration and basic life support when necessary
  • Operate EHR systems efficiently to document patient information accurately
  • Assist with ICD coding and documentation for billing purposes
  • Conduct basic diagnostic tests such as EKG procedures as needed
  • Manage patient service tasks including scheduling appointments and follow-up care coordination
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols
  • Provide compassionate patient care
  • Provide cross coverage in multiple offices

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics is preferred
  • Familiarity with EHR systems, ICD coding, and medical terminology is essential
  • Prior involvement in Cardiology or Geriatrics is a plus
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Experience supporting inpatient units like PICU or medical-surgical wards will be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent patient service with strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of physiology and anatomy to assist effectively during patient assessments and procedures

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
