Department: Spiritual Care Services

FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $ $38.70 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary:
Serves as spiritual care specialist providing spiritual, cultural, emotional and relational care to patients, their family members and organizational staff. Provides education and mentoring.

Responsibilities:
Performs and documents spiritual visitation, worship services and outreach.

Participates on hospital committees and community boards. Provides staff support around crisis intervention, trauma, stress and ethical issues.

Teaches classes and in-services designed to educate and provide therapeutic assistance to students, patients, family, staff and the community.

Participates in an interdisciplinary approach to spiritual care and patient health.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • Master of Divinity degree or equivalent from an accredited school.
  • Satisfactory completion of four (4) units of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) CPE.
  • Ordained or in the process of ordination or member of a religious vocation and have denominational endorsement. Preferred: Association of Professional Chaplains. May require department specific certification.
  • 1 year of relevant Pastoral experience.
