POSITION SUMMARY
The ideal candidate will be a professional and well-versed problem solver who is a critical thinker and loves to work with people and details daily. This candidate is a self-starter, highly motivated and can easily re-prioritize schedules when unforeseen conflicts arise. The candidate is searching for a strong team cultured office that is fast paced and evolving with advanced technology to streamline systems and processes.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other strongly motivated managers to maintain a team culture and build it stronger
- Majority self-directed operations while direct supervisor is working at other locations
- Supervise and motivate team members daily, weekly and monthly as needed
- Oversee team members from Trucking Division, Hydrovac Division and Aggregate Division
- Experience from these industries is a plus
- Enforce employment conduct, procedures and regulations with just and fairness
- Team accountability across the board
- Work with Talen Acquisition to recruit and hire new team members as needed
- Conduct new hire orientations for all levels: HR, Safety, testing, etc.
- Sorting and organizing paperwork, keep a tidy electronic filing system on server
- Adhere to and enforce all safety standards
- Participate in and promote the safety culture
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficient computer skills; working with various software, websites and programs
- Excel, Word, Outlook, OneNote, Google Docs, Microsoft Team 365
- Able to communicate across various forums including email, phone, text, messaging, fax and snail mail.
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment under pressure/deadlines
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Follow instructions given both orally or in writing
- Ability to work independently, with accuracy and in accordance with company safety and quality standards
- Ability to communicate in English with other employees for the purpose of hazard recognition, problem solving, or other purposes
Goals
- Maintain and report on employee relations weekly
- Maintain and execute employee warning reports as needed
- Work with other company resources to efficiently hire and build a team
- Organize team check-in and reviews within first calendar year
- Improve the smooth operation of daily scheduling, be an effective communicator between office and field.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk, use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies.
