- Design, develop, and implement system modifications within Epic to improve efficiency, accuracy, and usability for acute care settings.
- Conduct comprehensive data mining and analysis using SQL and other database tools to support clinical trials, research initiatives, and quality improvement projects.
- Manage health information management tasks by ensuring accurate coding, documentation, and data integrity within Epic systems.
- Assist in the development of databases and interfaces that facilitate seamless data exchange between Epic and other healthcare IT systems.
- Provide ongoing support for end-users by troubleshooting issues, delivering training sessions on Epic functionalities, and creating detailed documentation.
- Stay current with industry standards in bioinformatics, medical terminology, and health IT innovations to recommend best practices for system design and data management.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with Epic electronic health record systems in a clinical or healthcare IT environment.
- Strong knowledge of managed care processes, health information management, and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in SQL programming for data extraction, analysis, and reporting purposes.
- Demonstrated ability to design efficient database structures and system workflows tailored to clinical needs.
- Familiarity with clinical trials processes, data collection methodologies, and bioinformatics concepts.
