Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation, and a solid background in restaurant management. This role is vital in ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and supervising staff to deliver a seamless dining experience. The Shift Leader will play a key role in managing team performance, inventory control, and operational efficiency across casual dining, quick service, or fine dining settings.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company standards.
  • Lead staff training and development initiatives to enhance team performance and customer service quality.
  • Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Manage POS systems
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and control food costs to optimize profitability.
  • Ensure proper food handling, presentation, and quality control throughout the shift.
  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure an exceptional dining experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas in accordance with health standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food industry management, including roles such as assistant manager or supervisor within casual dining, fine dining, or quick service restaurants.
  • Strong background in food preparation, culinary techniques, and kitchen management.
  • Familiarity with POS systems
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with prior supervising or team management experience.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, inventory control, and food production processes.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
  • Experience with staff training & development, interviewing new team members, and managing restaurant operations.
  • Hospitality management background including hotel or catering experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including shifts that may extend into evenings or weekends as required by the restaurant's operational hours. Pay: $ $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 36.0 per week

Experience:

  • Shift management: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • ServSafe (Preferred)
