Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth daily operations. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental services across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are sterilized and ready.
  • Assist dentists during various procedures including chairside assisting, medical imaging, and dental surgeries.
  • Take and record vital signs, medical history, and other patient information accurately using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic.
  • Capture X-ray images following HIPAA guidelines and infection control protocols while maintaining aseptic techniques.
  • Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment.
  • Manage medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide patient education on oral health, post-treatment care, and dental terminology.
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed.
  • Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization and handling of instruments.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient workflow using four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary, demonstrating patience and understanding for young patients.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting; familiarity with general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics is preferred.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for medical documentation and records management.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge related to dental procedures.
  • Ability to operate X-ray machines and other medical imaging equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical coding, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
  • Experience with chairside assisting including four-handed dentistry practices.
  • Excellent communication skills to educate patients about treatments and oral health practices.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
