POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Project Accounting Supervisor at LJA Business Solutions, you will be responsible for responsible for overseeing project accounting operations and supporting firm leadership through accurate financial reporting, billing oversight, and staff management. The position partners closely with Project Managers and VPs, manages project accounting staff, and plays a key role in revenue tracking, WIP analysis, and month-end processes. You'll also contribute to improving billing procedures and support special initiatives such as audits and acquisitions.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

  • Managing, hiring, and training project accounting staff.
  • Overseeing revenue reporting and WIP analysis, including researching issues and providing PAA guidance for adjustments.
  • Reviewing and approving Accounts Payable.
  • Supporting complex billing and resolving client invoicing issues.
  • Performing weekly subconsultant to-be-paid reconciliations.
  • Assisting with Accounts Receivable issues, including research and resolution.
  • Processing write-offs as needed.
  • Supporting month-end close activities.
  • Contributing to billing processes and procedural improvements.
  • Providing direct support to Project Managers and Vice Presidents.
  • Running reports and queries for financial and operational insight.
  • Assisting the Project Accounting Manager with special projects, including audits, acquisitions, and other assigned duties.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Related work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Management training

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of common business software.
  • Excellent proofreading and editing skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with solid people skills.
  • Dependable with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize effectively.
  • Proven ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:

  • Prior experience in a supervisory or people-management role.
  • Experience supporting leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Exposure to audits, acquisitions, or other special accounting projects.
