Job Overview
Position Schedule: Full-Time

The Network Analyst is responsible for supporting the Edward Jones global network environment, which includes data, voice, and video infrastructure technology. Support includes planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of network equipment and circuitry providing communications within and outside of Edward Jones. Works in partnership with other associates, departments, and divisions throughout the firm to carry out the long-term strategy set forth by leadership.
Responsible for supporting one or more of the following areas of IS:
- Cabling & Infrastructure
- Circuit Provisioning
- LAN & WAN Operations/Projects
- Video Conferencing
- Voice Operations
Knowledge and Skills Required in the Job: - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications or Engineering preferred or equivalent, related work experience.
- Minimum of three years' experience in telecommunications and networking technologies. This includes two years of experience within an enterprise network environment in the specific area of responsibility:
- Cabling and Infrastructure
- Circuit provisioning
- LAN & WAN Operations
- Video Operations
- Voice Operations.
Functional Skills
- Basic knowledge of telecommunications principles and practices, the OSI 7-layer model, carrier-provided data and voice communication circuits and network and physical security principles.
- Individual must be self-motivated and able to function independently.
- Effective interpersonal and leadership skills needed to successfully interface with team members, leaders, and users.
Decision Making:
New designs and implementations, as well as, diagnosing and troubleshooting severe problems can be highly complex and non-routine due to the technical, architectural, and design complexities of a network this size. It is not unusual to have multiple problems occurring simultaneously.
While standards, processes, and procedures exist for many situations, it is virtually impossible to document all possible problem scenarios. Therefore, the associate is often faced with making on-the-spot decisions regarding network problem resolution. Network Analyst is expected to make decisions with minimal direct supervision.
Associates are expected to be on call during nights, weekends and holidays in rotation
