About
Our Durham, North Carolina distribution center is looking for experienced Forklift Operators to ensure the efficient and safe movement of materials. This role is key to our logistics operations, involving the loading and unloading of trucks, transporting goods throughout the warehouse, and supporting inventory management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of forklift operation, a deep understanding of safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. We are committed to maintaining the highest safety standards, and all employees are required to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move inventory, raw materials, and finished goods.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper placement and securing of loads.
- Transport items to and from staging areas, production lines, and storage locations.
- Perform routine inspections of forklifts before and after shifts, reporting any defects.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock replenishment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and management to ensure smooth operations.
- Operate other warehouse equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse operations and safety best practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong understanding of forklift safety principles and proper handling techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours if needed.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
