About
We are seeking a reliable Material Handler for our St. Louis, Missouri distribution center. The Material Handler will be responsible for moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. This role is fundamental to the smooth operation of our warehouse and plays a key part in our overall **logistics** chain. Emphasis will be placed on **safety** and efficiency in all tasks performed.
Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform regular **safety** inspections of equipment and report any issues immediately.
- Assist with **inventory** management and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all **safety** regulations are followed.
- Properly store materials to ensure **safety** and accessibility.
- Follow all company **PPE** guidelines, including wearing **safety** vests and **safety** shoes.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of material movement.
- Perform duties related to **logistics** and warehouse operations as directed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating material handling equipment is a plus.
- Ability to perform demanding physical tasks, including **Lifting** and carrying heavy objects (up to 70 pounds).
- Strong understanding of warehouse **safety** procedures.
- Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Familiarity with basic **logistics** principles.
- Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment and wearing required **PPE**.
