Counter Helper

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Counter Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our establishment, providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling food orders and transactions. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service, cashiering, and food safety practices, with a focus on delivering a positive experience to our guests. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, POS systems, and restaurant operations within a dynamic environment.

Duties

• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Prepare and assemble food items according to established standards and sanitation guidelines
• Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change using POS systems
• Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas in compliance with food safety regulations
• Assist in food handling and preparation tasks as needed
• Ensure timely service by managing time effectively during busy periods
• Provide friendly customer service by answering questions and addressing concerns professionally
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation policies to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers

Skills

• Experience in food preparation and food service operations
• Proficiency with POS systems
• Strong cash handling skills and basic math abilities for accurate transactions
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
• Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation procedures
• Ability to manage time effectively during peak hours for efficient service delivery
• Previous restaurant or food industry experience is preferred but not required
• Serving background is a plus
• Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest satisfaction and sales performance

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16.50 per week
