About the Role
We're seeking a skilled Accountant to join our Edmonton-based team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this full-time, in-office role is essential to maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely reporting, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations.
The Accountant will also provide guidance to the Staff Accountant in handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and procurement, while contributing to financial analysis and supporting strategic decision-making. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional looking to grow within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes
- Manage account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger accuracy
- Support the Staff Accountant with AP, AR, payroll, and procurement functions
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support business needs
- Ensure compliance with ASPE, tax regulations, and internal controls
- Maintain precision and accuracy under tight deadlines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Solid understanding of Canadian GAAP/ASPE and tax compliance
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Odoo) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- ERP system experience is a plus
- Effective communicator, able to present financial data clearly and confidently

Pay: $66,816.66-$81,775.37 per year
