Controls / Production Engineer – Automotive Manufacturing (Chatham, ON)

Overview

We are seeking a
Production Engineer
to join a fast-paced, high-volume automotive manufacturer in
Chatham, Ontario
. This is a hands-on engineering role supporting production operations with a focus on
automation, PLC systems, and process optimization
.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day production and maintenance teams with automation and controls troubleshooting.
• Lead PLC programming, modification, and integration across equipment and systems.
• Analyze production processes and identify opportunities to improve throughput, efficiency, and uptime.
• Support new equipment installation, commissioning, and validation.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to reduce downtime and streamline changeovers.
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain documentation and ensure all systems comply with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in
  Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
  .
• 3+ years' experience
  in automotive or high-volume manufacturing.
• Strong working knowledge of
  PLC programming,
  robotics, and automated systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with production, quality, and maintenance teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Availability to support a multi-shift operation.
