As industry experts, we're eager to see Canadian ebook and audiobook content created, distributed and consumed across the globe. We utilize our partnerships with top production teams, vendors and industry experts to support you throughout the entire process.

Role Description

BOUND Canada is offering a 15 week contract focused on supporting the production and distribution of accessible ebooks by Canadian independent publishers.

Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Manager, the Digital Services Intern will work closely with the eBOUND team to ensure accessible metadata is applied accurately, newly converted files are uploaded correctly, and titles are visible across major vendor platforms.

This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital publishing, accessibility, and ebook distribution while contributing meaningfully to Canada's independent publishing ecosystem.

The Digital Services Intern will be expected to work 2 days per week ($20 per hour) and will receive all necessary training and resources to successfully complete all assigned tasks, which will include:

  • Create AI-generated alt text for accessible ebook titles
  • Review and resolve missing or incorrect metadata across distribution platforms
  • Troubleshoot distribution issues with publishers and vendor partners
  • Monitor and support the APLN community hub
  • Assist with social media posts
  • Assist with the Canadian Digital Library Collection updates
  • Upload sales reports and assist with sales data collection
  • Additional tasks to support the Technology or Marketing department

The position is fully remote and will begin the week of January 19th, ending April 30th.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and well-equipped to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Valuable skills include an intermediate understanding of Excel, knowledge of digital book publishing and ebooks, and an interest in accessibility will be beneficial.
