About
We are building a dedicated internal Floating Framing Team designed to support our projects across multiple sites and locations. This team will deploy where skill, experience, and precision are needed most, typically for focused assignments lasting one to two weeks at a time. The goal is to solve problems, maintain momentum, and elevate quality across our projects.
This role is ideal for a well rounded framing carpenter who understands the full scope of multi family wood frame construction and can adapt quickly to different sites, crews, and conditions.
The Floating Framing Team will be structured with a Senior Lead, a Lead Carpenter, and a Helper. Team members will work closely together and move as a unit based on operational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
As a Floating Framing Carpenter, your work may include but is not limited to:
- Wall framing and layout
- Floor framing and joisting systems
- Deck framing
- Roof framing
- Backframing and interior framing
- Custom framing details
- Stair layout and construction
- Problem solving framing issues that require experience and precision
- Integrating into active projects when no priority assignments are pending
This role requires the ability to step into existing projects, assess conditions quickly, and execute work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of craftsmanship.
Project Locations and Mobility
- Work will take place across multiple job sites
- Assignments are typically one to two weeks per location
- Some projects may be out of town and require travel
- When not assigned to a priority task, the team will support active projects as needed
Flexibility, reliability, and a willingness to travel are essential for this role.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong experience in multi family wood frame construction
- Well versed in all major framing disciplines
- Comfortable working in changing environments and locations
- Strong understanding of sequencing, layout, and framing systems
- Able to work independently and as part of a small, tight knit team
- Professional, adaptable, and solution oriented
- Open to supporting different crews and projects as required
Team Structure and Growth
This role is part of a purpose built team designed to handle higher level framing tasks and project support. There is clear opportunity to grow within the team structure, including progression into Lead Carpenter and Senior Lead roles for the right candidates.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $21.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
