About

Sylvan Learning North Toronto is currently looking for high schools tutors. You will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach. As a Sylvan Instructor, you will provide personalized instruction at home, in-person or on-line teaching in Math and /or Chemistry, Physics and Homework Support to students of many levels.

Responsibilities:
- Teach high school students in a classroom setting, providing instruction in various subjects such as Math, Science, Chemistry, Physics, Biology
- Utilize different teaching methods and resources to engage students and facilitate their learning
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement educational programs
- Provide tutoring and support to students who need additional assistance
- Supervise students during laboratory experiments and other hands-on activities

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification or license
- Strong knowledge of the subject area(s) being taught
- Experience working with high school students, preferably in a classroom setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom and maintain discipline
- Knowledge of special education principles and strategies is a plus

As a successful Instructor, you will teach Sylvan programs, supervise, interact with and motivate students, reward students, evaluate and document student progress, and communicate student needs to the Director. You will inspire students by developing a rapport with them and establishing a fun learning environment, maintaining a positive attitude, and demonstrating enthusiasm for teaching and for Sylvan.

The successful applicant must be reliable with strong communication and organizational skills. This position will require training and a flexible schedule involving evenings and weekends.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship / Co-op

Pay: $19.00-$26.00 per hour
