Groundsperson / Entry-Level Arborist

We currently hold multi-year contracts with BC Hydro's distribution and transmission departments across Vancouver Island. At Adept, we promote a positive, team-focused culture and a commitment to excellence in every project.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide ground support for tree trimming and hazard tree operations.
• Operate chainsaws and chippers, including loading brush and debris.
• Assist with job-site setup, cleanup, and equipment maintenance.
• Follow and promote Adept, client, and industry safety policies and procedures.
• Work effectively as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude.
• Participate in apprenticeship opportunities with the goal of becoming a Certified Utility Arborist.
• Support crews in safe, efficient completion of projects for utility and private clients.

Qualifications

• Traffic control certification is a strong asset.
• Valid BC driver's licence; licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement is an asset.
• Willingness to work hard and interest in furthering your career.
• Opportunity for apprenticeship toward becoming a Certified Utility Arborist.
• Landscape, horticulture, or forestry experience is an asset.
• Ability to work safely as part of a team and willingness to learn and progress.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and motivation to grow within the company.

Compensation

• Pay range: CA$22.50 – CA$28.00 per hour
• Optional overtime opportunities

Location / Travel Requirement

• In-person work may require travel to various sites across Vancouver Island.
• Candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to reach designated marshal points or meeting locations.

Pay: $22.50-$28.00 per hour
