Overview
We're hiring a night-shift cleaner to support the daily cleanliness, safety, and readiness of our school facilities. This team plays a key role in making sure classrooms, hallways, washrooms, and shared spaces are fully cleaned and prepared for the next school day. The role is hands-on, reliable, and ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping spaces spotless, organized, and welcoming.
Key ResponsibilitiesCleaning & Sanitation
- Clean classrooms, offices, hallways, washrooms, and common areas daily
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect all required surfaces
- Restock supplies (paper towels, soap, garbage liners, etc.)
- Empty garbage and recycling throughout the building
- Perform deeper cleaning tasks as assigned (dusting, spot cleaning walls, glass cleaning, etc.)
Equipment & Machinery
- Safely operate cleaning equipment such as:
- Auto-scrubbers
- Floor polishers/buffers
- Commercial vacuums
- Carpet extractors
- Complete basic care and checks of equipment; report maintenance issues promptly
Building Readiness
- Ensure spaces are reset for the next school day (desks arranged, floors clean, supplies topped up)
- Lock and secure designated areas as required
- Report safety hazards, damage, or unusual building issues immediately
Team Coordination
- Work alongside the cleaning team and follow nightly cleaning schedules
- Communicate clearly with the Facilities Manager regarding any issues, supply needs, or concerns
- Take responsibility for assigned zones to ensure consistency and quality
Qualifications
- Experience in commercial or institutional cleaning preferred (schools, offices, facilities)
- Comfort and competency with cleaning machinery (auto-scrubbers, floor polishers, etc.) — training provided if needed
- Physically able to lift up to 30–40 lbs, bend, walk, and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent results
- Ability to work independently during late-night hours
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy

Schedule & Reporting
- Night shift required (approx. 5 pm–1 am or similar schedule)

- Reports to the Facilities Manager
