Base Foreman

We are a locally owned road & street construction and paving contractor based out of Blackfalds/Red Deer Alberta. We are seeking a professional and enthusiastic Foreman to join our team. This is a skilled position that involves out of town work in various locations throughout Alberta.

Summary

Reporting to the Supervisor, the Foreman assists in overseeing on-site construction crews, subcontractors, and equipment. They ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards while meeting project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Work as a team member and leader to carry out sub-grade and gravel operations in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist in organizing and coordinating the daily activities of crew members, sub-contractors, and equipment.
• Communication with onsite consultants
• Utilize corrective action as required.
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety program and encourage all employees, sub-contractors and consultants to do the same.
• Carry out all safety related tasks associated with Foreman related duties – FLHA's, toolbox etc.
• Operate equipment if required
• Other Foreman and road construction duties as required.

Requirements/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum Class 5 Operator's License with a clean driver abstract.
• 5 years' experience within the road construction industry.
• Experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred.
• Willing to work out of town and in remote locations.
• Willing to work overtime.
• Mechanically inclined.
