Kitchen Assistant/Cook

Job Overview
We are seeking an easy going, positive individual to join our team in the role of kitchen assistant. This position involves working hand-in-hand with our chef during our busy shifts. This job is ideal for those looking for part time work and are okay switching to various duties while on the job as needed by the restaurant.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers efficiently and courteously, ensuring a positive dining experience
• Prepare and cook a variety of menu items following established recipes and standards
• Handle food safely, including proper storage, sanitation, and hygiene practices
• Assist with meal preparation, including chopping, assembling, and plating dishes
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas throughout shifts
• Follow food safety protocols at all times to ensure compliance with health regulations
• Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth restaurant operations
• Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure continuous service
• Clean dishes and operate the dishwashing machine
• Mop floors
• Helpful in overall restaurant needs
• Unload and put away supplies
• Lift and load heavy bag of pellets into pellet stove
• Assist FOH staff in bringing up additional tables and chairs from storage when needed

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and meal preparation techniques
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Willingness to learn new skills related to cooking and food safety standards
• Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or holidays if necessary

Must have viable form of transportation.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $17.60-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week
