Quality Inspector

Job Title: Quality Control

Shifts: 1st or 2nd, must be open to both and overtime is required

Job Summary: This position requires a person who is quality conscious, has solid communication skills, and is self-directed in checking /rechecking material and finished goods. A solid understanding of statistical analysis, precision measurement and process capability studies is also helpful. Position requires (essential) a person to be able to learn and effectively use: snap gages, calipers, durometer instruments, tensile instruments, gasket testing instruments, magnet pick up blocks, tape measure/rulers, check bars and computer/iPads. Position requires long periods of standing and walking. Job also requires good hand/eye coordination.

Essential Functions:

· Test and inspect at all stages of production. (essential)

· Select part for test at specified stages in production process; testing for length, width, thickness, durometer in accordance with specification qualifications. (essential)

· Maintain accurate set of product specifications

· QC is required to find and fix and parts that aren't satisfactory (beauty wands, holes, burns, etc).

· Keep QC Spec book current by filing new specs and placing canceled specs in canceled file. (essential)

· Notify Supervisor and appropriate shift supervisor when sampling indicates progressive deterioration in quality in order that corrections can be made in equipment setup and/or procedure to forestall production on unacceptable product.

· Accepts or rejects finished goods according to quality of sample inspected.

· Rejects substandard products and discusses defects with appropriate production Supervisor and QA Manager.

· Informs operators of quality issues involving their part.

· Test products for proper functionality.

· Completes all proper paperwork after/before business hours.

· Any additional function or job duty as requested by the Supervisor or QC Manager.

· Box/hang any finished goods after ensuring the parts are quality approved.

Required/Qualifications:

· Must be detail oriented

· Must be able to move at a fast pace and check multiple tables parts

· Must be able to stand, kneel, crouch for 8 or more hours a day

· Must have reliable transportation

· Attendance is a must

· Must be able to work overtime as needed and occasional weekends

· Heated in the winter, cooled in the summer

· Industrial plant

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $17.50 per hour
