Engineering Project Team Leader

Caterpillar's Core Engine Components team, within LPSD, is focused on creating integrated engine components to enable Caterpillar products to provide industry leading performance, value, and durability with a differentiated product that will make our customers successful.  This team is responsible for design and development of engine heads, blocks, and housings. 

We are seeking an Engineering Project Team Leader to support the facility expansion, and onboarding new sources of supply for heads, blocks, and housing; in addition to reviewing and supporting current production issues as they arise.

What you will do:

• Negotiate and manage technical requirements, communicate to stakeholders, team members, and platform groups
• Provide Coaching and Technical Guidance to global team of Engineers along with Team development
• Provide Project leadership & Governance
• Develop project scope to address business challenges and opportunities
• Provide leadership and governance on New Product Introduction (NSI), New Capitol Introduction (NCI), and Continuous Product Improvement (CPI)

Top Candidates will also have:

• Proven Project Leadership and technical experience
• Experience in setting up supplier strategies, components or sub system Technical MGPP
• Led NSI/NCI/CPI programs
• Ability to review CPK data and make recommendations based on the data to qualify new machine centers & process changes
• Experience with Blocks, Bearing Caps, Cylinder Heads, and Housings.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or related engineering with strong Design Engineering experience is desired

• This position is located in Lafayette, IN.
• This position does NOT offer domestic relocation assistance.

• This position may require up to 15% travel
• This position requires 5 days in the office each work week

Summary Pay Range:

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
