About
Takes x-ray images of the patients and develops the films to reveal their skeletal or bone structures for diagnosis
· Conserves compliance with the governmental protocols and ensures the safety of patients and employees by using protective instruments and exercising safety measures
· Controls the x-ray video display and makes sure that the picture quality clear
· Stabilizes the patients and ensures preparedness by educating them about the entire procedure, appropriately positioning them on the examining table, and covering them with protective clothing
· Studies the x-rays to create a detailed report of the findings and present them to the physicians
· Evaluates the dimension of the area to be radiographed
· Makes copies of the x-rays and keeps a precise record of the patients who have undergone the imaging procedure
· Properly documents in the patient's Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
· Completes duties according to the requirements of each procedure requiring radiological support
· Assembles necessary supplies and positioning aids for scheduling procedures according to physician's preferences card
· Tests and monitors equipment for proper working condition
· Accurately comprehends and interprets verbal order and direction
· Documents records and other forms, accurately adhering to approved policies/procedures
· Confirms that all persons in the room are appropriately shielded before activating the x-ray
· Communicates information about the patient's status to other persons responsible for patient care
· Applies the prescribed procedures to competently perform radiology technician functions
· Follows principles of aseptic technique in performing duties during the procedure
· Remains available during the procedure to provide timely responses to physician or patient needs
· Follows manufacture's specifications and OSHA guidelines when performing x-ray procedure
· Performs required maintenance of instruments, supplies, and equipment by adhering to cleaning care, storage, and calibration procedures as directed
· Handles equipment and instruments correctly to provide appropriate availability and safety
· Maintains adequate supplies to provide immediate availability during the procedure
· Maintains a clean and organized work area
· Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and the physician
· Participates in continuing education and other learning experiences
· Adheres to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities
· The employee must inform the Supervisor of any adverse events.
· Other duties as assigned
