Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, home health, and community care environments. In this vital role, you will assist clients with daily activities, monitor their health and safety, and promote independence while ensuring a warm, respectful, and safe environment. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and observe changes in health or behavior, reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary plans and assist with meal consumption to support proper nutrition.
- Administer medications following prescribed schedules while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Maintain detailed care plans tailored to each resident's needs, including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism support, and memory care.
- Conduct patient observation to identify potential safety hazards or health concerns and respond promptly to emergencies such as CPR or first aid situations.
- Perform light cleaning duties to ensure a hygienic environment within residents' living spaces and shared areas.
- Support residents' social engagement by facilitating activities that promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Document all care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient monitoring techniques, medication administration, and vital sign measurement.
- Experience with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, hospice care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality is essential.
- Hands-on experience with caregiving tasks such as assisting with ADLs, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and using mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts.
- Strong background in providing compassionate patient care within long-term care environments or home health services.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including seniors, individuals with autism or disabilities, and those requiring memory or dementia care. Pay: $ $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
