Job Summary

Accola is seeking a reliable, self-directed Housing Support Coordinator to join our residential housing program team.

The Housing Support Coordinator supports the daily housing environment by coordinating resident housing systems, household expectations, documentation, and communication related to shared living spaces. This role is coordination-focused and resident-facing, ensuring housing operations function smoothly while maintaining clear boundaries between program support, facilities work, and landlord responsibilities.

The Housing Support Coordinator plays an important role in maintaining a trauma-informed living environment by supporting resident autonomy, minimizing unnecessary room entry, and ensuring that housing expectations and processes are clearly communicated and consistently documented.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate Housing Support:

  • Serve as the primary program contact for residents regarding housing expectations, shared space use, and household responsibilities.
  • Coordinate resident household duties, including communicating with residents when assigned tasks are missed and supporting coverage planning as needed.
  • Participate in welcoming and orienting new residents to housing expectations, house jobs, and shared-space guidelines.
  • Coordinate move-in and move-out readiness by identifying and reporting cleaning or maintenance needs and scheduling services through established channels.

Support Resident Compliance & Documentation:

  • Conduct scheduled room and shared-space checks focused on cleanliness, food storage, and general safety observations.
  • Document housing-related observations and communicate concerns using established protocols.
  • Identify potential maintenance, pest, or safety issues and submit requests through the centralized request system.
  • Maintain resident-facing housing documentation, including materials for "Living Well in Community" binders.

Coordinate Supplies & Shared Resources:

  • Monitor inventory of routine, program-funded, resident-facing supplies, including household cleaning supplies, kitchen consumables, and health and safety items.
  • Place routine, pre-approved supply orders within established budgets and vendor accounts.
  • Track supply usage and notify the Program Director of unusual needs or trends.

Promote Trauma-Informed Community Living:

  • Communicate housing expectations clearly and consistently using trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices.
  • Minimize resident room entry and ensure appropriate notice and coordination when room access is required.
  • Support a respectful, predictable, and welcoming housing environment aligned with survivor-centered care principles.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Coordinate resident communication related to scheduled maintenance, vendor visits, or housing updates.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director, Maintenance, cleaning vendors, and IT using established systems and protocols.
  • Perform other housing coordination–related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Knowledge

  • Preferred experience in housing programs, residential settings, social services, or related fields.
  • 1–3 years' experience working in a residential or supportive housing environment preferred.
  • Experience working with trauma survivors from diverse cultural and language backgrounds strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain healthy boundaries and work within clearly defined role expectations.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed care, cultural responsiveness, and ongoing learning.
  • Commitment to ongoing training in trauma-informed care and cultural awareness.
