Position Summary
The Senior Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for leading demand planning, forecasting, and data-driven inventory analysis to support optimal product flow. This role mirrors and supports the forward-thinking, highly analytical responsibilities demonstrated by our retail partners. The analyst will own daily and long-range forecasting routines, evaluate inventory performance, and proactively identify risks and opportunities across the supply chain.
This position is designed to relieve the Director of Planning & Purchasing from high-volume analytical tasks and data minutiae, enabling deeper focus on strategic initiatives, supplier strategy, and long-term planning.
Key Responsibilities
Demand & Forecast Management
- Lead all aspects of demand planning, including maintaining weekly, monthly, and seasonal forecasts.
- Build models to improve forecast accuracy, identify trends, and track forecast variance.
- Partner with Customer Service, Production, and Product Development to integrate real-time data into the demand plan.
- Ensure supply signals reflect customer demand, capacity constraints, seasonal patterns, and market trends.
Inventory Optimization
- Analyze inventory levels, safety stock, and reorder points to reduce stockouts and excess.
- Monitor material usage, BOM accuracy, and consumption patterns.
- Provide recommendations that improve turns, minimize waste, and stabilize flow into production.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Create dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools to give visibility across purchasing, planning, and production.
- Own supply chain KPIs (inventory turns, forecast accuracy, supplier lead times, service levels, etc.).
- Perform root cause analysis on shortages, delays, or variances and present actionable solutions.
- Support month-end reporting and executive reviews.
Cross-Functional Communication & Collaboration
- Serve as the primary communication hub between Planning, Purchasing, Production, and Customer Service.
- Translate complex data into clear, simple communication that drives decision-making.
- Provide timely updates to internal partners on supply risks, constraints, and changes.
- Champion proactive planning behaviors across departments.
Special Projects & Strategic Support
- Lead process-improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Support the Director of Planning & Purchasing on long-term planning initiatives.
- Partner with IT/Data teams during ERP enhancements and data governance work.
- Assist with onboarding and development of junior analysts and planning personnel as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Analytics, or related field (Master's a plus).
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain planning, forecasting, or inventory analysis (furniture manufacturing preferred).
- Advanced skills in Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, PowerPivot), forecasting tools, and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical thinking with exceptional attention to detail.
- Clear communicator who can simplify complexity and partner effectively across teams.
- Strong initiative, ownership mentality, and an ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with upholstery/furniture manufacturing supply chains is a plus.
