This position is contingent upon contract award.

Position Summary:

Command Cyber Solutions is seeking a Systems Security Engineer, Senior to support security-focused engineering, analysis, and implementation activities across enterprise systems in a structured Navy IT environment. This role contributes to system hardening, security configuration, compliance activities, and technical coordination efforts that help ensure a secure and stable operating environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in system security practices, experience with enterprise IT environments, and the ability to translate security requirements into clear technical actions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain security configurations, updates, and controls across supported systems.
  • Support security assessments, documentation updates, and remediation efforts based on organizational requirements.
  • Analyze system and security data to identify potential risks or configuration gaps and recommend appropriate improvements.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to integrate security requirements into system configurations, workflows, and procedures.
  • Maintain documentation related to security configurations, procedures, and system changes.
  • Support incident response coordination by documenting findings, assisting with analysis, and contributing to follow-up actions.
  • Assist with system testing activities to validate correct implementation of security updates and controls.
  • Communicate security-related expectations and technical guidance clearly to team members and stakeholders.

Education, Certification & Experience Requirements:

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or cybersecurity-related field (Preferred).

Certification Required:

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • IAT III Certification in accordance with DoD 8570 requirements.

Experience Required:

  • Six (6) years of experience performing system security engineering, configuration, compliance, or related technical security activities within Federal, DoD, or enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting system hardening, secure configuration management, or vulnerability remediation initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of system security engineering practices demonstrated through accurate implementation and maintenance of security configurations and controls.
  • Knowledge of security assessment and remediation processes shown through consistent identification and resolution of configuration or compliance gaps.

Skills:

  • Skill in analyzing system or security information evaluated through accuracy of findings and effectiveness of recommended improvements.
  • Skill in preparing clear security documentation demonstrated by organized, accurate, and up-to-date procedures and configuration records.

Abilities:

  • Ability to manage security-related tasks, updates, and deadlines, measurable by timely and complete execution of assigned activities.
  • Ability to follow structured security procedures and maintain stable system configurations, measurable through periodic configuration reviews and adherence to established guidelines.

Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands:

  • This position is performed in a professional environment, remote/home office setting, or on-site government facility, as required by the contract.
  • Standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, during normally scheduled business hours, with occasional evening or weekend work required to meet critical deadlines.
  • Work involves extensive computer and secure network use, including periods of prolonged sitting, data entry, and screen time.
  • The role requires working independently with minimal supervision, while also collaborating virtually or in person with CCS teams, subcontractors, and government stakeholders.
  • Occasional travel may be required for customer meetings, training, or project-related activities.
