Schwab Industries is seeking a highly motivated CNC Operator, with an understanding of fundamental shop knowledge. The ideal candidate is extremely hands-on with solid experience in CNC machining.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Experienced with both 3-axis and 5-axis mills a plus. Work from solid models, technical drawings, engineering sketches, and other such documentation to produce a variety of prototype and manufacturing parts. Interpret specifications, drawings, rough sketches, and verbal instructions to determine operation sequences.
FUNCTIONS
· Ability to operate 3 Axis and 5 Axis CNC machines using WorkNC software.
· To read, understand technical mechanical drawings, sectional views, part notes and dimensions and tolerances.
· Must be able to read precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, depth gages).
- Machining of all types of materials (aluminum, steel, graphite materials, etc.)
· Ensure we are utilizing the machines as efficiently as possible.
· Promote good housekeeping by ensuring a clean and orderly workspace.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Typical qualifications would be:
· Minimum 5 years' experience as an operator/machinist in a manufacturing environment.
· Understanding of milling, cutting, etc. and detailed functional knowledge of most common machine shop tools and machine helpful.
· Ability to read, understand, and create technical mechanical drawings, including orthographic projections, sectional views, part notes and dimensions and tolerances.
- Must be reliable with a good work ethic.
- Ability to work assigned hours plus overtime as needed.
- Good communication skills.
· Emphasis is placed on continuous process improvement and efficiency.
- This position will report to the Machine Shop Supervisor.
- Fidia, Heidenhain, or Fanuc controllers.
