Our client in Birmingham, AL is searching an experienced
IT Operations Support Analyst
to join their technology group. This is a
contract-to-hire opportunity
offering long-term potential for candidates who perform well and align with the team's needs.
This position functions as a primary frontline support role, ensuring the field receives timely and effective technical assistance while maintaining the integrity and security of the company's IT environment. It is well-suited for an IT professional who is comfortable with hands-on troubleshooting, cross-functional technical work, and serving as the main point of contact for both end-user and enterprise-level support needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for technical issues across the enterprise.
- Triage, troubleshoot, document, escalate, and resolve software, hardware, networking, and security-related issues.
- Support commercial applications, proprietary systems, Active Directory, O365, VOIP, and related platforms.
- Provide on-site support for new hire onboarding, hardware setup, configuration, and general technology needs.
- Assist with deployment and maintenance of PCs, peripherals, AV equipment, automation systems, and communication tools.
- Manage shipping, receiving, and preparation of IT equipment for various locations.
- Conduct research and advanced troubleshooting to resolve complex or multi-layered issues.
- Prepare clear documentation, maintain accurate records, and contribute to process improvement efforts.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
- IT certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, MS900, or software-specific credentials are preferred.
- Minimum of three years of IT support experience across multiple technical disciplines.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems, O365, and standard network architecture.
- Proven ability to perform remote troubleshooting and resolve a wide range of IT issues.
Preferred Technical Skills
Experience with:
- Cisco and Fortinet network equipment
- Active Directory administration
- AnyConnect, PsExec, PowerShell
- NetBox, PRTG, Putty
- RDP, VOIP systems
- ServiceNow and asset management platforms
- SharePoint and SCCM
- iOS/Android devices and MDM solutions
- Printer administration, Access, and Excel
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform hands-on tasks including hardware installation, lifting equipment, and supporting AV/PC/peripheral setups.
