Role Overview
We are hiring for
one of our clients
a
Distinguished Machine Learning Engineer
to join their
Autonomy – Behaviors
team.
In this role, you will develop core machine learning capabilities for an autonomous driving platform, working across
prediction, planning, and control
problems. You will apply advanced ML techniques to real-world autonomous vehicle challenges and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy production-grade systems at scale.
This role is ideal for a seasoned ML leader with deep hands-on experience, strong research foundations, and a passion for building impactful autonomy solutions.
What You'll Do
- Research, design, implement, and evaluate deep learning–based methods for prediction and planning in autonomous driving systems
- Lead the design, execution, and analysis of large-scale experiments using real-world driving data
- Translate research innovations into production-ready machine learning models
- Partner closely with system and software engineers to deploy robust, scalable ML solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clearly communicate technical concepts, progress, and results
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 15+ years
of experience building machine learning systems for autonomous vehicles, robotics, or comparable complex systems - Deep understanding of
large language models (LLMs)
and
transformer architectures - Proven hands-on experience building and deploying large-scale production ML systems
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated record of driving innovation in ML-based planning or autonomy solutions
- Extensive experience with deep neural network training, inference, and optimization using frameworks such as
PyTorch, TensorFlow, TensorRT
, or similar - Excellent understanding of the mathematical foundations of machine learning and deep learning
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience leading ML planning initiatives
- Strong publication record in machine learning, planning, perception, or related research areas
- Experience developing and deploying
vision-language-action models
or
chain-of-thought reasoning models
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary Range (U.S.-based roles):
USD $271,000 – $373,000
Compensation is determined based on skills, experience, role scope, and location. Additional compensation may include bonuses or equity.
This role is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which may include health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable laws.
