About
Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly in compliance with Total Housekeeping Management and ISO standards.
Demonstrate ability to meet qualification requirements.
Work under the direction of the Supervisor.
Operate extruder machines and control panels.
Assist during machine changeovers.
Measure pipe specifications and report problems to Supervisor and Quality Control.
Identify visual defects in pipe.
Accurately calculate and make required puller speed adjustments.
Cut Quality Control testing samples as required.
Perform miscellaneous minor repairs to equipment.
Use safe work practices and report hazardous conditions.
Perform other miscellaneous jobs as directed.
Train inexperienced employees on the job when required.
Perform all necessary measurements to ensure pipe is within tolerance using calipers and micrometers.
Accurately complete Production Inspection Reports and supporting documentation.
Record bi‑hourly line checks and notify Supervisor of any changes.
Operate forklift to move finished product, boxes, materials, or supplies.
Accurately calculate and make required adjustments to extrusion lines.
Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment.
Record machine conditions and report abnormalities to Supervisor.
Accurately calculate machine rate and speed.
Clean extruder and cooling tank water filters.
Make and collect Quality Control samples as required.
Perform miscellaneous jobs as required, including training new hires.
QualificationsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
TRAINING: Briefly state degree and depth of job training required for this position.
The first 90 days on the job training to demonstrate the ability to learn and perform the requirements of the position.

Forklift experience and knowledge of measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma/GED preferred but not required or 6 months experience as a Machine Operator.
COMPUTER SKILLS Possess intermediate knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume etc.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- Having adequate capability of sight, hearing, and use of limbs to safely operate all powered vehicles. I.E. sweeper, forklifts.
- Sight capabilities to distinguish proper product identification as well as warning and operational indicators.
- Hearing capabilities to distinguish difference in warning alarm indicators and standard operation indicators.
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling capabilities to handle job requirements such as operating, cleaning or packaging equipment and products.
- Balancing to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching in all areas.
- Hear and understand verbal communication whether it be face to face or via the telephone.
- See and understand written communication.
- Ability to confirm by sight quality level of raw materials and products produced to determine acceptance or denial of each.
- Climb and descend all ladders or steps whether fixed or portable on company facilities in order to access all areas if needed.
- Lift up to 25-50 lbs. and carry up to 30 ft.
- Walking through, around, and under equipment with a clearance of up to 30 inches.
- Ability to feel objects, such as textures, size, and shape and to determine temperature by touching.
- Ability to grasp tools (manual as well as powered) and use them in accordance with a safe working manner so as not to injure oneself or fellow employees. I.E. power saws, Drills, hammers, presses, latches, etc.
- Sight capabilities to safely operate at arm's length machinery and power and /or hand tools needed to accomplish the requirements of the job assignments for the position.
