Job Summary
We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join our team in Southern California As a Technical Support Engineer in the solar energy industry, you'll provide technical troubleshooting over the phone, video call, email, etc. and help customers around the world with their solar needs This position also includes working on RMA's in house, utilizing your hands on skills to repair and inspect our products
Responsibilities:
- Technical Troubleshooting: Providing prompt and effective technical support to customers who encounter issues with their solar systems. This could involve diagnosing problems remotely or coordinating on-site visits.
- Client Communication: Interacting with customers via phone, email to address inquiries, resolve concerns, and guide them through system maintenance.
- Optimization: Work closely with customers to optimize their systems and provide suggestions to customers about options that may help optimize their system.
- Troubleshoot Hardware: Utilize electrical hardware skills to troubleshoot our products in our office workshop
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, renewable engineering or a related field. Understands electrical, electronic, physics and other related majors. Advanced degree holders are welcome to apply.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in engineering. Experience in engineering design of renewable energy (solar) is a plus
- Communication Skills: Communicate with clients in a professional and respectful manner while answering questions and concerns. Bilingual individuals are encouraged to apply.
- Solar Panel Knowledge: Knowledge of engineering principles; able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Knowledge of how solar panel systems work is preferred.
Physical Demands:

- Duties include both repair activities standing and periods of seated work. The proportion of time spent on each will vary according to operational requirements.
- Occasionally moving within the office environment to access file cabinets, office equipment, or other materials.
- Communicating effectively, including the ability to speak, hear, and convey information clearly to others.
- Reading and analyzing information on a computer screen, with or without assistive technology.
- Using hands and fingers to operate a computer, desk phone, calculator, printer, and other office equipment.
- Lifting and moving up to 100 lbs or more, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Working within electrical hardware systems, including inverters, batteries, and chargers, following proper safety protocols.
