About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cybersecurity Software Engineer to join our team at Lockheed Martin. This pivotal role involves leading the design, development, and security enhancement of mission-critical web-based and Java applications tailored for the Intelligence, Global Strike, and Nuclear Planning communities. As a senior member of our engineering team, you will be instrumental in shaping secure software solutions that meet stringent security standards and operational requirements. Your expertise will help safeguard sensitive information and ensure the robustness of our cybersecurity posture across complex systems. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development with a focus on cybersecurity principles. Candidates must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance at the Top Secret level. Relevant qualifications include experience in developing Web or Java applications within Agile and DevSecOps environments, with a proven track record of integrating cybersecurity best practices into the software development lifecycle. Familiarity with cybersecurity assurance processes, compliance tracking, and security posture assessments is essential. Desired skills include professional certifications such as CISSP or equivalent, experience with CI/CD toolchains, and proficiency with development tools like VS Code, GitLab, Gradle, GIT, Selenium, and JIRA. Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue), CSS, HTML, and Web Services (REST, JSON/XML) will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain secure software solutions, ensuring cybersecurity best practices are embedded at every stage of development.
• Lead efforts in software design, coding, automated testing, system integration, and defect resolution to deliver high-quality, secure applications.
• Collaborate effectively with systems engineers, solution architects, scrum masters, product owners, and end users to meet mission requirements with robust solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives such as security posture evaluations, process automation, and DevSecOps practices to enhance system security and efficiency.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and technical excellence, while influencing the technical direction of high-impact programs.
• Review software for cybersecurity assurance, ensuring compliance with security standards and tracking system cybersecurity posture and compliance metrics.
• Participate in security audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation efforts to maintain the integrity and security of software solutions.
