POSITION: Practice Coordinator / Clinical ATC or RN

REPORTS TO: Practice Administrator

FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt

JOB SUMMARY

The Practice Coordinator oversees the management of practice operations to include surgical, clinical, practice-specific administrative duties, along with staff oversight.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delegates clinical and clerical tasks to staff; confirms completion of daily tasks delegated
  • Responsibilities require surgical and clinical tasks
  • Oversees surgical management to include scheduling, billing, and authorization
  • Serves to assist with interoffice conflict resolution matters
  • Responsible for continuous team-building and staff development
  • Oversees clinical management to include clinical care, charting notes, daily billing audits, dictation, clinical research, and patient care
  • Coordinates patient care to include the returning of phone calls, order oversight, referrals, authorizations, and patient issues
  • Scrub into surgeries with the physician
  • Maintain multiple schedules for the physician; including, but not limited to, clinical, surgical, etc.
  • Manage and improve clinical workflows and interaction between departments, oversee OSHA compliance and would be a liaison for the physicians in the Practice, patients as well as outside vendors.
  • Authorizes surgeries and therapies
  • Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice
  • Processes staff paperwork for FMLA and Short-term disability
  • Focus on improving the patient experience and outreach through minimal marketing campaign
  • Scans, faxes, and other typical office duties
  • Attends CPR and OSHA training programs as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Certified Athletic Trainer or RN
  • One to three years surgical experience (Fellowship training will be considered in lieu of experience)
  • One to three years clinical experience (Fellowship training will be considered in lieu of experience)
  • Excellent time management, communication, and organization skills
  • Medical processes and terminology
  • Proficient in the use of computers and applicable computer programs
  • Ability to achieve and maintain privileges at applicable surgery centers/hospitals

Position requires a full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing or sitting for extensive periods of time. The employee will occasionally be asked to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds. Normal visual acuity and hearing are required. The employee will be exposed to biohazard materials on a regular basis.

The employee will have some exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances (i.e.: cleaning products), medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

Pay: $50, $75,000.00 per year
