Summary
Trinity Classical Academy seeks a candidate for a part-time Teacher Assistant position in its Grammar School. Qualified candidates will be models in their lives and possess a servant's heart. They will assist, including supervising, teaching and interacting with children in grades TK-6 and have a heart for ministry to children.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior job experience working with young children
- CPR and first aid certification a plus
Essential Skills and Abilities
- Excellent oral and written command of the English language
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, and students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
- Competence in educational technology (Word processing, online management software, etc.)
- Excellent organizational skills
Basic Functions
- Assist the teacher with carrying out lesson plans
- Assist in the daily execution of all classroom and outdoor activities
- Preparing materials used in instructional activities
- Assist teacher in grading process
- Work one-to-one or with small groups of students
- Provide support to students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
- Tidy up and keep the classroom in good order
- Assist in school outings, field trips and school events
- Substitute the teacher as necessary
- Provide supervision of students during recess, lunch and other activities as necessary
- Provide bathroom supervision as necessary
- Provide full attention to the class, with shared responsibility for safety and well-being of the children
- Know the procedures for dealing with emergency situations in classroom and school

Working Conditions
- Working Environment: Requires standing for long periods of time
- Able to make visual and auditory evaluation of student work and performance
- Physical Demands: Must be able to sit for extended period of time, repetitious hand and body movements, simple grasping, fine and gross motor skills. Stand and walk when administering care. Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, push, pull and lift up to 20 pounds. Must be able to climb one flight of stairs.
- Use of computer/monitor screen; projector and other classroom equipment; generally, works in a group environment; noise level is typically low with the exception of times between class periods.
- Travel: Travel will be required for local field trips
Schedule
School Calendar: 15 hours a week, schedule to be determined. Training days and parent teacher conferences may be longer workdays.
