The
Manager, Sales Engineering
leads a regional team of up to 15 Sales Engineers, ensuring technical excellence and driving business growth. This role combines
people leadership
with
technical expertise , supporting both commercial and public sector sales teams. The Manager partners with account teams, Sales Architects, product, and delivery organizations to execute strategic initiatives, achieve team‑level quota, and deliver exceptional client experiences.
The Manager provides guidance on solution design, acts as an escalation point for complex engagements, and ensures the team is equipped with the skills and resources needed to succeed. This position reports to the
Director or VP, Global Solution Architecture and Engineering .
Responsibilities
Manage, coach, and develop a team of Sales Engineers to achieve performance goals
Partner with regional sales leadership to drive strategic initiatives and team‑level quota attainment
Provide technical leadership and function as an escalation point for complex client engagements
Oversee solution design quality and ensure adherence to best practices
Monitor team performance metrics and implement process improvements
Support pre‑sales activities, including client presentations, workshops, and proof‑of‑concept engagements
Ensure team readiness through ongoing technical enablement and training
Participate in hiring and onboarding of new team members
Maintain deep technical expertise and stay current on industry trends
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve customer experience and drive innovation

Domain Skills
Deep experience in the design and deployment of technology and solutions in at least two of the core domains: Network Security, Endpoint Security, Security Consulting, Digital Forensics, Threat Detection and Response, Managed Security Solutions
Broad understanding of security technologies and their inter‑relationships
Solid experience with structured solution design methodologies
Ability to provide technical oversight and guidance across multiple engagements
Familiarity with cloud security and modern architectures (Zero Trust, hybrid environments)
Required
5+ years of experience in a pre‑sales or consulting capacity within security domains (Network Security, Endpoint Security, Incident Response, Threat Detection, Managed Security)
2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience in a technical pre‑sales environment
Proven ability to manage quota‑carrying teams and deliver results
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including interaction with senior executives
Hands‑on technical understanding of incident response, computer forensics, network, endpoint, and/or application security
Professional experience with Microsoft Security Tools
Ability to travel up to 50%, including international travel if required
Valid passport
English: Fluent
Preferred
Previous experience in technical enablement or training
Hands‑on experience with IDS, SIEM, packet analysis tools, and operating system analysis
Advanced knowledge of security solutions and technologies, including Linux, network architecture, firewall technologies, proxy technologies, anti‑virus, spam and spyware solutions
Familiarity with compliance and regulatory standards (PCI‑DSS, GDPR, ISO 2700x, etc.)
Verifiable and current certifications, including CISSP, CISM, CEH, CISA
Microsoft Security Certification
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required
A Microsoft Security Certification would be a plus
