Position Summary
As a Supply Educator, you will navigate a fluctuating schedule, fostering community connections through daily interactions with children, colleagues, and families at numerous child care centres and before and after school programs. Contributing to a team of highly skilled and passionate Educators, you will provide care and education to children ranging from 0-12 years old. You will implement an emergent curriculum through a pedagogical lens, facilitate learning experiences, remain curious alongside the children, and consistently strive to deepen your understanding of the culture you cultivate within a classroom.
Responsibilities
o Work within a fluctuating schedule, adapting to diverse routines and schedules across different centres
o Maintain constant supervision and prioritize the physical and emotional safety of children at all times
o Implement an emergent curriculum by fostering and nurturing child-led learning experiences that support children in exploring topics that cultivate their curiosity
o Collaborate with families to share insights, involve them in the curriculum planning process, and seek input on children's interests and needs
o Seek to understand children's diverse needs and abilities and provide an inclusive program within a community based practice
o Comprehend and adhere to the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), health and safety guidelines, and London Bridge policies and procedures
o Perform a range of administrative functions, such as documenting children's attendance, maintaining daily charts and medication logs, and accident reports as required daily
o Attend professional learning and engage in reflective conversations alongside colleagues to create an inclusive and nurturing environment for all children
Qualifications
o Registered Early Childhood Educator qualification, or, post-secondary degree/diploma in a related field; or is currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree/diploma program
o If applicable, a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators
o Experience working with children, including those with diverse needs, is considered an asset
o Strong critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills
o Curious, reflective, and eager for ongoing professional growth
o Demonstrates a high degree of flexibility and adaptability in responding to the evolving needs, interests, and dynamics of the children, the program, and the environment
o Vulnerable Sectors Check within the last 6 months
o Standard First Aid and CPR Level C (WSIB approved)
o Immunizations Records (Tetanus Toxoid and Rubella)
