We have an immediate opening for a Material Handler in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is essential for the smooth functioning of our warehouse, ensuring materials are moved, stored, and tracked accurately. You will be responsible for managing the flow of goods, from receiving to put-away, directly impacting our Logistics efficiency. Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, and store incoming materials.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely.
- Transport materials throughout the warehouse, adhering to proper Lifting techniques.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles efficiently and safely.
- Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and free from hazards, complying with Safety standards.
- Inspect equipment for proper functioning and report any issues.
- Wear all mandated PPE to ensure personal Safety.
- Support the overall Logistics operations by ensuring materials are readily available.
- Follow all company Safety protocols and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse capacity is beneficial.
- Proficiency in operating various material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety practices and the ability to enforce them.
- Capability to perform regular Lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Understanding of basic Logistics principles and inventory control.
- Must be able to work safely and wear required PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
