We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, responsible for accurately documenting, inspecting, and organizing all deliveries. Your diligence ensures that our inventory is correctly accounted for from the moment it enters our facility, contributing to the overall efficiency of our supply chain. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect all incoming merchandise for damage or defects and report any issues.
- Accurately record received items into the warehouse management system (WMS) or other tracking tools.
- Tag and label received goods for proper identification and storage.
- Organize and stage incoming inventory for distribution to appropriate warehouse areas.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe receiving area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified) to move incoming materials.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments regarding shipments.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and logistics procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse/logistics role is preferred.
- Strong data entry and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with reading purchase orders and packing lists.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and WMS software is a plus.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to safety regulations.
- Basic understanding of inventory control principles.
