About
Our expanding logistics operation in Jacksonville, Florida, is seeking a proactive Receiving Clerk to manage inbound shipments. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our receiving process, verifying quantities, checking for damages, and meticulously documenting all incoming goods. Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Accurately compare received goods against purchase orders and packing lists, noting any discrepancies.
- Document damages, shortages, or overages immediately and report them to the appropriate personnel.
- Enter received inventory data into the warehouse management system (WMS) in a timely and accurate manner.
- Apply appropriate labels or tags to received products for tracking and identification.
- Stage received inventory for efficient put-away and distribution within the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free receiving area.
- Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counting procedures as required.
- Strictly follow all safety protocols and company guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external carriers regarding shipment status and issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with scanners and data entry into inventory management systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Understanding and adherence to safety regulations and the use of PPE.
