We are seeking a reliable Material Handler for our Omaha, Nebraska distribution center. This role is essential for the efficient movement and organization of goods within our logistics facility. You will be responsible for tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, operating material handling equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, organizing inventory, and ensuring a safe and clean work environment. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials and products from trucks and trailers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Move materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Assist with inventory control, including stock counts and put-away processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of appropriate PPE.
- Inspect equipment for defects and report any issues to maintenance.
- Follow proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
- Assist in other warehouse duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a Material Handler, warehouse, or similar role is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is a plus.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and adhering to safety guidelines, including PPE requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
