Job Summary:
Join our dynamic team as a Material Handler in Washington, D.C.! This role is fundamental to the efficient flow of goods within our logistics operations. You will be responsible for the safe and accurate movement of materials throughout the warehouse, utilizing various equipment and adhering to strict safety protocols. Responsibilities:
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move, load, and unload materials.
  • Transport raw materials, finished goods, and equipment within the warehouse and distribution center.
  • Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment immediately.
  • Accurately sort, count, and stack materials as required.
  • Assist with inventory control tasks, including cycle counting and stock verification.
  • Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all warehouse and logistics standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Read and interpret work orders, shipping documents, and production schedules.
  • Contribute to team efforts by assisting with various warehouse tasks as needed.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
  • Valid forklift operator certification is required.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 75 pounds.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and material handling procedures.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a logistics environment.
  • Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts and other heavy machinery.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to perform demanding tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes physically demanding environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
